The La Liga season of 2020-21 was a nail-biter. To win their first Spanish top-flight title in seven years, Atletico Madrid had to win on the last day of the season. While Real Madrid gave the Rojiblancos a fight for their money, Barcelona was forced to withdraw from the race due to a slump in form in the final months of the season.
This summer, the La Liga powers are attempting to upgrade their squads.
This summer, Barcelona bolstered their squad. Real Madrid has also made some important additions. Atletico Madrid is in the transfer market ahead of what looks to be a thrilling 2021-22 season.
La Liga is once again brimming with interesting players, many of whom are world-class in their respective positions. Their transfer market values will, of course, be extremely high.
Let’s take a look at five of La Liga’s most important players without further ado.
(Transfermarkt provided all facts and values.)
Casemiro (Real Madrid) is ranked #5 with a price tag of €70 million.
Casemiro, a defensive midfielder for Real Madrid, is one of the finest in the world. The Brazilian has added a lot more to his game in recent years than simply recovering and turning over possession. He has no qualms about charging forward and joining the onslaught.
Casemiro is a monster in midfield, and if he has a good day, Real Madrid will most likely come out on top. The 29-year-old Brazilian international has two years left on his current contract with the La Liga giants.
In the 2020-21 season, Casemiro was one of Real Madrid’s greatest players, and he continued that form in the 2021 Copa America for Brazil. In 46 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions last season, he scored seven goals and six goals from defensive midfield.

Pedri (Barcelona) is ranked #4 with an investment of €80 million.
Pedri, a Barcelona kid, has seen his stock skyrocket this summer. With Barcelona, he had a fantastic 2020-21 season. Despite being only 18 years old, the small midfielder appeared 52 times for the Catalans this season in all competitions.
Pedri has previously been compared to Andres Iniesta and Xavi. Although the Spanish midfielder is still a youngster, he already has excellent feet and a repertoire of subtle touches, flicks, and delightful passes.
At Euro 2020, Pedri was named Young Player of the Tournament, and he was undoubtedly Spain’s greatest player on the continent. He is currently worth €80 million. His current deal with Barcelona runs out next summer, but the club has the option to extend it for another two years, which they will almost certainly do.
Pedri is 18 years old.
In his first senior season he played in 52 of Barcelona’s 54 games, starting 40.
He then went straight to the Euros and only missed one minute of Spain’s six games.
