Lionel Scaloni’s men beat Colombia in the semi-final on penalties to reach the final, while Tite’s Brazil edged past Peru to qualify for the title match. Argentina and Brazil were the best teams in the competition and deserve to be in the final.
On Sunday, Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Brazil’s Neymar, two of the best players in the world, will face off. After playing together for Barcelona, the two forwards had an excellent relationship. However, they will put their relationship aside in the final, as each player will be focused on helping his team win.
Brazil has a star-studded lineup for Copa America 2021, but they may struggle in the title match versus Argentina. Let’s take a look at five reasons why that might be the case.
For the final versus Argentina, #5 Brazil is without a genuine striker.
Although Neymar is one of the best attacking players in the game, he is not a typical striker. The superstar plays primarily on the left wing for both club and country.
That could be a problem against Argentina in the Copa America 2021 final, since Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus is suspended. Richarlison of Everton and Gabriel Barbosa of Flamengo could both be viable choices, but the former did not have the best of seasons with his club in 2020-21.

Argentina’s centre-backs are powerful and aggressive, so Neymar will require every bit of assistance he can get. Barbosa and Richarlison are both incredibly gifted players who have performed admirably at the Copa America 2021 thus far, so they will have to be at their best against Argentina if Brazil is to win the tournament.
4 Brazil’s lack of midfield inventiveness
Neymar’s ingenuity is unrivaled once again, and he will be Brazil’s biggest threat against Argentina.
With the exception of Lucas Paqueta, Brazil’s midfield lacks inventiveness. So far, Casemiro and Fred have had successful Copa America 2021 campaigns. However, neither of them is known for their inventiveness.
Fabinho and Douglas Luiz are Brazil’s other midfield possibilities.

If Paqueta starts against Argentina, it will not be surprising. The Lyon midfielder is a gifted creator who had a promising debut season in France. Paqueta shone in the final phases of the Copa America 2021 and could provide a spark against Argentina.
