Tencent and Shengqu Games have been rather silent about Don’t Starve: Newhome since its first announcement last year. The game is set to arrive for iOS and Android at some point. They finally broke the silence today by releasing a brand new story trailer.
The trailer for Don’t Starve: Newhome, which you can watch below, is fully dedicated to describing the game’s structure. So, if you were hoping to see any gaming footage, you’ll be disappointed. If, like me, you’re only interested in the game’s eerie art style, it’s still worth watching.
If you haven’t heard of Don’t Starve: Newhome yet, it’s a spin-off of Klei’s devilishly frightening survival sim. It will have social and multiplayer components, as well as continuing live support that will provide new content to keep the game fresh and engaging.
As you might anticipate, the switch to mobile has resulted in a few more changes to the gaming loop. Play sessions will be more faster than fans are used to, according to the developers. However, it will retain the survival and exploration loop that propelled the original’s fame.
As they go about their business, players will be able to create permanent bases. There will be a variety of species to find, as well as new crafting recipes and buildings, all of which may be enjoyed in multiplayer with friends.
At some point, Don’t Starve: Newhome will be available on the App Store and Google Play. There is no official release date yet, but the latest trailer’s description indicates that it will be released soon. As always, we’ll keep you informed as soon as we have more information. In the interim, you can visit the official website for the game.
