Argentina midfielder: “Lionel Messi is one step ahead of us all.”

Rodrigo de Paul, an Argentina midfielder, praised Barcelona striker Lionel Messi after the 34-year-recent old’s performance against Ecuador in the Copa America 2021 quarter-finals.

‘He’s one step ahead of us all,’ De Paul stated after the Ecuador game. “For example, he saw me alone for the opening goal against Ecuador, and it helped us win.”

Argentina’s semi-final match against Colombia is on Wednesday, and the Udinese midfielder is looking forward to it. He was upbeat about Argentina’s chances of winning the Copa America in 2021, saying:

“We’re motivated, and we’re aware of how difficult the game against Colombia will be, but we’re ready and looking forward to facing them. This is a lengthy journey in which we will encounter formidable opponents, but we are prepared to fight until the very last minute to reach the final. We only want to provide happiness to all Argentines.”
