According to MARCA, Arsenal is interested in signing Real Betis’ Argentine midfielder Guido Rodriguez this summer (via Football Talk).
Arsenal is one of several European clubs interested in signing Rodriguez from Real Betis, according to the aforementioned source. However, the La Liga club will have the upper hand in discussions, since Guido Rodriguez now has a £69 million release clause.
Despite a large release clause, Arsenal intends to start the talks by sending a £25 million opening proposal in the hopes of luring Real Betis into further negotiations. Real Betis are under no compulsion to sell Guido Rodriguez this summer because he is signed to a long-term contract.
