Arsenal is looking to bolster their roster following a disappointing 2020-21 season. After finishing ninth in the Premier League rankings, Arsenal were unable to qualify for Europe.
Mikel Arteta’s side advanced to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals, only to be defeated by eventual champions Villarreal. The Spaniard’s domestic cup record was also not very impressive.
Arsenal is preparing to offer Leicester City star Jamie Vardy a record-breaking contract.
According to The Hard Tackle through AFC Bell, Arsenal is aiming to entice James Maddison to the Emirates by offering him a five-year deal worth quadruple his current salary. The Gunners are even willing to give the Leicester City midfielder the prized No. 10 shirt if he chooses to join them. Mikel Arteta is searching for a replacement for Martin Odegaard, who returned to Real Madrid at the end of his loan spell, and believes Maddison would be perfect for the role.
James Maddison’s camp are expecting an Arsenal approach. Maddison is the club’s primary target although it’s a very difficult deal to do but Arsenal are fighting hard, Maddison would earn twice as much as he earns at Leicester + wear an iconic number.
