Sami Zayn is irritated that he isn’t given credit for popularizing NXT and altering the industry.
The black and gold brand will be relaunched into a lot more vibrant WWE NXT 2.0 brand tonight. But, before that occurs, Sami Zayn, a former NXT Champion, believes he deserves a thank you for putting the brand on the map in the first place.
Sami Zayn took to social media this evening, ahead of WWE NXT 2.0, to express his dissatisfaction with the lack of gratitude he has received for his tenure on the black and gold brand.
“Consider all of the greats who have passed through NXT to this moment, and how virtually none of them would have been there if it hadn’t been for me making NXT a thing. But has anyone thanked Sami for transforming the industry? Obviously not. Oh, how I pity myself “Sami Zayn sent out a tweet.
As this new era of @WWENXT begins, think of all the greats that passed through NXT to this point & how virtually none of them would have ever been there if not for me making NXT a thing. But does anyone say thank you Sami for revolutionizing the business? Of course not. Poor me.

Will Sami Zayn be recognized for his contributions to the industry?
While Sami Zayn’s tweet is most likely a prank, the WWE Universe should thank wrestlers like Sami Zayn and Finn Balor for helping to make WWE NXT the popular brand it is today. It probably wouldn’t have been feasible without people like Zayn.
Whatever happens with WWE NXT 2.0’s rebranding tonight, the black and gold brand will live on in the hearts of wrestling fans worldwide. Many people praised Triple H and his team for providing them with something new than what they were used to seeing on RAW and SmackDown every week.
Tonight, as a new era of WWE NXT begins, we should appreciate wrestlers like Sami Zayn for making the previous brand such an entertaining product, for better or ill.
One of the biggest nights in @WWENXT history is upon us. Make sure YOU are a part of it.
