Barcelona’s possible opponents in the Copa del Rey Round of 32

Barcelona will enter the Copa del Rey 2022/23 from the next round of fixtures. The Catalan giants are one of the four La Liga teams who were exempted from participation in the second round of the competition due to their involvement in the Spanish Super Cup.

So, along with Real Madrid, Valencia, and Real Betis, the Blaugrana were given a direct bye into the Round of 32, where they will be joined by 28 other teams who qualified from the second round of the Copa del Rey.

A further advantage of Barcelona’s participation in the Spanish Super Cup is that not only they will enter the competition in the third round, but they will not have to face a La Liga team in the next phase.

Instead, the Catalan giants will be drawn against a side from either the First RFEF Division or the Second RFEF Division and not even a team from La Liga 2.

With the second round fixtures having been completed and the draw for the Copa del Rey Round of 32 set for later today, here are Barcelona’s possible opponents for their first match of the cup competition this season.

Of these ten possible opponents, Cacereno eliminated La Liga side Girona to book a place in the Round of 32 and will look to scalp another top-flight team.

The Round of 32 fixtures of the Copa del Rey will be played on January 3,4 and 5, at the home of the lower division team in the draw made.
