Battlegrounds Mobile is set to premiere in India in the coming days. The release date has yet to be announced. Battlegrounds Mobile India’s beta version is now available for download, and millions of players have already done so and are enjoying the game. However, it appears that Battlegrounds Mobile India is not progressing as planned.

According to a recent report, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has filed a letter to Union IT and Communication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, requesting that Battlegrounds Mobile India be banned. CAIT has called for a ban on the PUBG Mobile India edition, claiming that the game is “not just a threat to India’s national sovereignty and security, but also destructive to future generations.”

CAIT has also requested that Battlegrounds Mobile India creators not be allowed to access the Google Play store for the game. Since June 17, the Battlegrounds Mobile India beta version has been available for download on the Google Play store.

“After #PUBG was banned last year [and] now they are making backdoor access by evading Indian laws,” wrote CAIT Secretary-General Praveen Khandelwal on Twitter in response to the Battlegrounds Mobile India ban.

According to a prior report, the Indian government cannot prohibit the release of an unreleased game. Only after the game’s release may a ban be issued. The release date for the PUBG Mobile India version has yet to be announced by Krafton. Because the developer wants consumers to test it and report back, we expect the rollout to take a few more weeks.

The Battlegrounds Mobile India game will be available first for Android users and then for iOS users. However, Krafton has yet to share any information on the iOS version.
