Croatia defeated Scotland 3-1 in Glasgow to book their place in the Euro 2020 knockout stages.
Croatia won their first Euro 2020 match with to goals from Nikola Vlasic, Luka Modric, and Ivan Perisic. With the win over Scotland, Zlatko Dalic’s team moved into second place in Group D, ahead of the Czech Republic.

Scotland made a strong start to the game, almost taking the lead early on through Che Adams. Southampton’s striker attempted to get on the end of a lovely cross from John McGinn near the back post. He couldn’t, however, make clean contact with the ball.
Croatia took the lead for the first time in the 17th minute, thanks to a goal by Nikola Vlasic. Vlasic took a touch before putting the ball beyond David Marshall from close range after Ivan Perisic headed the ball into his path.
Luka Modric almost extended the advantage for the visitors, but the Scottish goalkeeper saved his powerful drive from 25 yards. Just seconds later, John McGinn came near to equalizing for the visitors, but Dominik Livakovic parried his shot.
Callum McGregor’s strike brought Steve Clark’s side back level three minutes before the halftime whistle. McGregor rifled a shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards after Andrew Robertson’s cross was diverted into his path.
