“For the first time in Krunal Pandya’s career, he has tested positive for something, but in a negative way,” Twitterati says after Krunal Pandya tests positive for Covid-19.

After Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for Covid-19, the officials opted to postpone the second Twenty20 International between India and Sri Lanka. Krunal tested positive during the morning Rapid Antigen Tests, which were administered prior to the match. The BCCI issued a media advisory to confirm the news.

The BCCI has announced that today’s RT-PCR testing will be performed on the whole Indian squad and support staff to ensure their safety. Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Prithvi Shaw, and five other Indian players were reportedly kept in isolation after coming into close contact with Krunal Pandya, according to reports.

Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav were scheduled to fly to England soon, but they would have to wait till their RT-PCR tests come back negative. If everyone else tests negative, the second T20I will go place tomorrow (27-7-21).

The squads for the T20I series are as follows:

Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Varun Chakravarthy, Manish Pandey, Kuldeep Yadav, Krishnappa Gowtham, Nitish Rana, Navdeep Saini, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rahul Chahar, Devdutt Padikkal, Chetan Sakariya, Krishnappa Go

According to the altered itinerary, the tour’s second match will be held on July 27 and the final match will be held on July 28. Indian cricket fans were quick to react to the news, taking to Twitter to express their displeasure. The majority of them mocked Krunal Pandya for contracting the illness while encased in a safe bio bubble. Some of them wished him and the rest of the team well.

Krunal Pandya was booed by the crowd after testing positive for Covid-19 before the second T20I against Sri Lanka.
