Liverpool legend backs Chelsea to win the Premier League title.

Graeme Souness believes Chelsea will battle to the bitter end for the Premier League title. Thomas Tuchel, according to the Liverpool veteran, has the ideal players in his side and has the Champions League winners among the title favorites.

Most analysts consider Chelsea to be championship contenders after purchasing Romelu Lukaku this summer. Last season, the Blues won the Champions League and have been doing well under Thomas Tuchel.

Graeme Souness has increased the pressure on Chelsea by naming them as one of the Premier League title favorites. Souness stated in an interview with Sky Sports Football Podcast:

“Tuchel is getting a kick out of them all. Lukaku’s signing elevates them to real title contenders. Lukaku will score 20 goals or more on that team if he remains fit. [Timo] Werner piqued my interest because he constantly comes in second, but he never takes [the risks].”

“You can’t wait for someone to start scoring 20 goals or more per season as a manager. He spent a lot of money on someone who has no doubts about his abilities because he has previously performed in our league and done well. Coming back from Serie A, he appears to be a completely different beast.” Chelsea’s ‘title favorites’ tag is dismissed by Thomas Tuchel.
Thomas Tuchel is now willing to put his squad under pressure and has already disregarded the moniker of favorites. Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho thinks his team cannot be classified because they finished fourth in the Premier League last season.

“To be completely honest, I see us as the fourth best team in the world, and we cannot be the favorite next year. They must reduce the deficit to three, two, and one. We indicated during the last half-campaign year’s that we’d raise the bar and aim to close gaps in 90 minutes, and we’ll try to do so again. The Premier League is a difficult tournament.”
Chelsea are still hoping to sign Jules Kounde and a midfielder before the transfer market closes at the end of the month, according to reports.
