Reece James has been with Chelsea since he was six years old and has spent the previous two seasons in the first team. He is regarded as one of the world’s most promising young full-backs, capable of playing in a variety of positions.
Last season, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel frequently utilized James as right center-back in a three-man defense. In total, the 21-year-old made 42 appearances in all competitions.
Right-backs Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo are part of Manchester City’s team. Guardiola, on the other hand, is said to be willing to transfer Cancelo to left-back if he can get James.

Manchester City’s summer transfer plans
Pep Guardiola is looking to bolster Manchester City’s roster this summer. In a deal worth over £100 million, the club is in talks to recruit Jack Grealish and Harry Kane.
This comes just weeks after Guardiola stated City lacked the financial means to replace Sergio Aguero.
“Listen, with these prices we are not going to sign any striker. We are not going to sign any striker, it’s impossible – we cannot afford it. It’s impossible,” Guardiola told the media. “That’s not going to happen, no. All the clubs struggle financially and we are not an exception. We have Gabriel and Ferran (Torres), who played incredible in this position this season.”
“We have young players in the academy and we have played many times with a false nine. I don’t know what will happen. Maybe we are going to buy one but maybe maybe we are not going to buy any striker for the next season. Today there is more chance we are not going to buy any striker.”
