Qatar will continue preparations for the 2021 Gold Cup with a friendly match against El Salvador at the Aldo Drosina Stadion in Croatia.
Last month, the hosts of the 2022 FIFA World Cup completed their qualification for next year’s Asia Cup with victories over India and Oman.
Due to schedule difficulties, the Crimsons were unable to participate in the ongoing Copa America in Brazil.
Their next big event is part of a strategic collaboration with CONCACAF, which has invited them to participate as guests. CONMEBOL performed the same thing in the last Copa America.
This has given the Middle Eastern team several high-level competitive matches to prepare for next year’s highly anticipated climax. El Salvador, meanwhile, will play their final warm-up match before the Gold Cup later this month.
La Selecta also qualified for the World Cup final round after defeating Saint Kitts and Nevis 6-0 over two legs in June. Guatemala then held them to a goalless draw in a friendly match.
