Spain’s international footballer wants to return to Barcelona this summer, according to reports.

According to Barca Blaugranes, Spain star Adama Traore is considering a return to his boyhood club Barcelona this summer.

Adama Traore recently spoke with Catalan outlet RAC1 on his desire to return to Barcelona after departing the club in 2015. Traore has also stated that he will speak with his agency about the possibility of returning to Barcelona. Traore explained:

“Barcelona is where I call home. I grew up there and spent ten years there. I’ll have to talk to my representatives about it and see what role Barça requires in order for me to return.”
Adama Traore is a graduate of the prestigious La Masia institution in Barcelona. Despite his talent, the Spaniard only made four professional appearances for Blaugrana before joining Aston Villa in England.

According to Spanish publication Diario Sport, Adama Traore might return to Barcelona, with the Catalan giants rumored to be offering Francisco Trincao to Wolverhampton Wanderers in a swap deal.

Adama Traore has also piqued the curiosity of other clubs. Chelsea could sign the 25-year-old if they are unable to acquire the services of Achraf Hakimi, according to reports earlier this week. Adama Traore is a potential right wing-back in a back-five system, according to Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

This summer, Barcelona is hoping to sell some of their periphery players.

Barcelona intends to sell some of their periphery players this summer in order to free up funds for new signings and reduce the club’s wage budget.

One such player is Francisco Trincao. The 21-year-old had a difficult first season at the Nou Camp, and several Premier League clubs are interested in loaning him out this summer.

Although club president Joan Laporta has hinted that additional additions could be made in the coming days, it is still unclear whether Adama Traore is a transfer target for Barcelona. According to Laporta:

“Three or four more signings are on the way; we’re building a highly competitive team. With the arrivals of Garcia, Aguero, Emerson, and other players who are ready, we can already see it.”
