On Monday, European Gymnastics named Naples as the host city for the 2024 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships. The announcement came following an online conference hosted by Farid Gayibov, President of European Gymnastics.
The men’s tournament will take place from April 24 to April 28, while the women’s competition will take place from May 1 to May 5. The International Gymnastics Federation will ratify the final dates.
The European Artistic Gymnastics Championships will take place before the 2024 Olympics, if the tentative dates are approved, as the Paris Games are slated to take place from July 26 to August 11.
The last time Italy hosted the European Championships was in 2019, when the men’s and women’s competitions were held in Milan. The country is currently looking forward to hosting another European Championships.
In addition to approving Naples as the host city for the 2024 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, European Gymnastics also chose Antalya as the host city for the 2023 European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships. The dates for the event are tentatively set for November 17 to November 19.
The European Gymnastics Congress will be held in 2023, and the European Championships in Trampoline Gymnastics and TeamGym will be held in 2024, according to European Gymnastics.In terms of medals gained at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Russia is the all-time leader. They’ve won 32 gold, 25 silver, and 26 bronze medals in all. They are followed by Great Britain and France, who have a total of 38 and 27 medals in the biennial spectacular, respectively.
