The Roost update for Animal Crossing: New Leaf has revealed some new details. Amiibo cards and villagers are among the new horizons

Animal Crossing fans were treated to some exciting news during yesterday’s Nintendo Direct. After such a long wait, New Horizons will finally receive a significant update.

Not only that, but the update includes new features that many players have been requesting for a long time.

Brewster and Gyroids are quite likely to join The Roost, which was formally mentioned in a very brief teaser. There could be even more surprises in store that the players are unaware of. Here are some fresh details about the next Animal Crossing update.

New details concerning the Animal Crossing: Roost upgrade have surfaced.

It appears that the upcoming update will include some new Amiibo cards, as first mentioned by popular Animal Crossing YouTube channel Crossing Channel. The popular cards’ fifth series is supposed to be “coming shortly,” which most likely implies they’ll be included in the next update.

These Amiibo cards will most likely be given to well-known villagers such as Raymond, as well as to new villagers that may appear in the upcoming update. According to reports, 100 Amiibo card IDs were not assigned to any villagers. These were essentially merely placeholders awaiting the arrival of villagers.

There aren’t many villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons without Amiibo cards. This implies there’s a strong chance some new ones, along with their own Amiibo cards, may be added.

Tom Nook and Isabelle, for example, are Amiibo-less characters. An Amiibo card, on the other hand, wouldn’t make any sense or serve any use because they can’t travel in to the island (and also can’t be ejected off).

At this moment, much of this is simply speculation, but more official information about the Roost upgrade, Series 5 Amiibo cards, and other topics will be released soon. Regardless, New Horizons has a bright future ahead of it.
