This summer, there are five players that could return to their former clubs.

Gone are the days when players pledged their loyalty to a single club and remained with them throughout their careers. In many respects, it’s a positive thing. Different clubs have different managers with different philosophies and approaches, and a player has every right to pick whatever one he thinks will best suit him.

When a top player is playing for a certain team, he may not be able to give his all. This could occur for a number of reasons. He might then transfer to another team to further develop his skills and become a more complete player. Things might go in a variety of directions, but it’s unusual for a player to return to his former team.

This has happened a few times before, with varied degrees of success. This summer, it might happen again. Without further ado, let’s take a look at five players who could return to their former clubs this summer.

International Friendly: Spain vs. Portugal

Renato Sanches is a young man, only 23 years old. However, he has already experienced the whole range of emotions during the last five years. As a teenager, Sanches caught the world by storm. When Bayern Munich paid €35 million for him in 2016, it appeared that they had beaten several European giants to the next big thing in football.

Sanches was a highlight of Portugal’s victorious Euro 2016 campaign. He was one of their most essential players at the competition, and he received a lot of accolades for his ability and mentality. Sanches’ club career, on the other hand, never took off, as he only made 53 appearances for Bayern Munich in two seasons.

He also had a dismal loan spell with Swansea City, where his lackluster performances made him an easy target for the media. Renato Sanches, who was on the verge of being written off, is now making a comeback.

The youthful midfielder, who currently plays for LOSC Lille, put in an outstanding performance for Portugal against Germany in their group stage match on Saturday. It was a performance that harkened back to the Sanches of old, demonstrating that he is well on his way to resurrecting his career.

Bayern Munich, according to sources, is considering bringing him back. It will be a remarkable return for the youngster if he does return to Germany.

Renato Sanches is rumored to be returning to #Bayern. It’s still early in the process, but based on his progress, I’d want to see him return to Munich. Both parties believe there is unfinished business. — 21 June 2021 Manuel Veth (@ManuelVeth)

4 Kingsley Coman has signed a contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

FC Bayern Muenchen v FC Augsburg – Bundesliga

Kingsley Coman has a long and accomplished career behind him. Bayern Munich has been attempting to strike an agreement with the 25-year-old on a new contract. However, due to Coman’s wage demands, which the Bavarians consider excessive, negotiations have come to a halt.

Coman was a key player for Bayern Munich last season, and his contract situation is being monitored by a number of European powerhouses. Paris Saint-Germain, his former club, is one of the most prominent among them.

Coman played for PSG’s senior team for one season in 2013-14 before joining Juventus. According to sources, PSG is eager to strengthen their frontline and will try to recruit Coman if Bayern Munich decides to sell him.
