After losing 1-0 to Belgium in the round of 16, Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal’s Euro 2020 campaign came to an end.
This time in the Euros, the Portuguese talisman scored five goals in four appearances, breaking many records. He eclipsed Michel Platini’s nine goals total to become the tournament’s all-time leading goalscorer with his first goal against Hungary. He finished the tournament with a total of 14 goals.
Ronaldo also surpassed Iranian hero Ali Daei’s tally of 109 goals to become the all-time leading goalscorer in international football.

Messi played his 148th international match for Argentina against Bolivia in the last group game, surpassing Javier Mascherano as the most by an Argentine player (147). He also scored a brace in his team’s 4-1 victory, bringing his total international goals to 75, making him the joint-ninth best goalscorer of all time.
